How did the idea of the festival and what the purpose of the ‘Metal for Kids United’?

Faber Troy: The idea of a festival dedicated to the best metal bands in Italy is a dream I had about two years. When I was working in the formation of the cast, I had the idea of turning the festival at a charity event for the benefit of needy children. In general, either as a child who grew up dreaming of heavy metal and heavy music, or as an adult working with event production, I think the ‘Metal For Kids United’ was already taking shape for some time. The goal was to raise funds for a charity which supports children with hearing and speech. I can say proudly that the mission was accomplished successfully because we can raise a lot of money to support the organization.

Italian bands like Rhapsody and Lacuna Coil are worshiped in Brazil, and now the creek, one of the largest Brazilian bands, has Fabio Lione on vocals. Already Almah, the former Angra Edu Falashi, made his first tour in Europe alongside the Italian Secret Sphere. What can talk about this Italo-Brazilian brotherhood in metal?

Faber Troy: I believe in my heart that the Italians and Brazilians have a great history in common related to their musical tastes and traditions (in all genres, not only in the Heavy Metal), and love for Metal unites the two countries in a strong musical fraternity. In fact, we had an excellent exchange of bands and musicians.

The ‘Metal for Kids United’ had the presence of two Brazilian singers, Rod Rossi and Edu Falaschi, who sang his songs on stage Angra supported by Italian musicians with the right to duet with Lione. How was the reception of the Italian bangers for these musicians? As the Brazilian metal is seen in Italy?

Faber Troy: Edu presented a mini-set with five songs Creek, and was one of the main attractions of the first part of the festival – divided into two parts: the first with the copyrighted material of artists, and the second with covers. It was very well received because the Italians love the Angra and Edu was the guy that brought the band back to the top in the new century. Therefore, he is well respected. He was accompanied by excellent Italian musicians and some guest stars as Aldo Lonobile the Secret Sphere (they are friends for a long time, but had never played together), Titta Tani (former lead singer of DGM) and the virtuoso guitarist Leonardo Porcheddu . In addition, the master of Maestro Mistheria keyboards, which has recorded for Bruce Dickinson, Rob Rock and is the creative mind behind the Vivaldi Metal Project. Fabio joined him on stage to sing ‘Rebirth’ and ‘New Age’ and the audience went wild. This duet never happened in Europe. A night to get to the story that took more than two hours in a jam full of stars, where Edu sang some classics like ‘Eagle Fly Free’, ‘Enter Sandman’ (sharing the vocals with Terence Holler, of Eldritch band) ‘the number of the Beast’ and ‘Burn’, Deep Purple, who has become crazy on stage with various musicians joining him.

– Nova Era (Edu & Lione):

Talk about the participation of Rod Rossi. It was not something planned? How did this participation and how was the reception on this promising Brazilian singer?

Troy Faber Rod was not part of the plans and was a pleasant surprise when we met during rehearsals at the show yesterday. He was just there to watch and was humming the songs while the staff was passing everything. No one there knew right but soon discovered that he was preparing an album full of distinguished participation of famous musicians. After a chat with everyone, Brian O’Connor (former lead singer of the legendary band of American power metal Vicious Rumors), which is a very cool and relaxed guy, was so tanned Rod who invited him to sing the ‘Electric Eye ‘Judas Priest, with him. Rod was an amazing surprise to all present at the studio, because the two were having a devastating version of the classic Judas Priest! It soon became very clear to me, and Brian, we wanted him to be on stage with us. In addition, he also sang the ‘Rising Force’, Yngwie J. Malmsteen’s matchless duet with the lead singer of Timestorm. We could not leave so much talent out of that stage. I think the audience loved his performance and, of course, were surprised. It was a great discovery for everyone, and all artists received very well backstage (in fact, I was with him on a few dates of their Italian tour, where we shared the stage, and I can say that I am really looking forward to this new album!)
